In contrast, normal practice traditionally was to seal windows with old fashioned silicone which decays over time. ‘A’ rated window installation requires weatherseal, thermal insulation and air tightness around the window which maintains the windows ‘a’ rating.

Illbruck TP651 trio tape is a multi functional tape which provides a weather and airtight seal as well as thermal insulation. An alternative approach is to provide a weather seal using illbruck duo tape and an air seal using illbruck pro fam air seal.

Firstly, this leads to faster installation by up to 20% – it also provides a far cleaner installation also with far less mess than a silicone installation. Illbruck pro foam air seal is applied to give a comprehensive all round seal as thermal insulation is an absolute requirement for an ‘A’ rated window. This tape expands to completely seal up gaps between wall and window  giving unrivalled protection from the harshest of weather elements.
